<p>Bad breath, or Halitosis is a pretty common ailment or condition, and probably turns people away from those that have it faster than if that person had passed gas but, not always. It is difficult to be in a close conversation with a person that has bad breath. It is immediately nauseating. One often feels like they will throw up if they dont get away. Controlling ones response and getting away is difficult to do without embarrassing that person or seeming to be rude and uninterested in the conversation, especially if it is your boss, a superior or perhaps your lover. So, how does one handle it.</p>
<p>First of all you should understand the causes of bad breath, because when you are suffering with bad breath, it can affect your personal life as well as your professional life. Most people have the worst breath in the morning when they first wake up. You may be okay for a few hours after you brush, but as the day progresses, the stink of bad breath may creep slowly back into your mouth and make the people you deal with cringe.</p>
<p>Sometimes bad breath is caused by the food you eat such as garlic or onions and you will probably notice It right after you have eaten. Other causes are smoke from cigarettes or cigars and alcoholic beverages.</p>
<p>Some people have chronic or persistent bad breath. This is usually a medical problem. These people usually have good oral hygiene and dont know that they have bad breath, or if they do, they may not know what to do about their condition.</p>
<p>But, the most common cause is from a bacterium that is naturally present in your mouth that feeds off food particles left over from when you last ate.</p>
<p>Most bad breath situations can be taken care of by taking good care of ones teeth and perform good oral hygiene. People who know that they have a problem with foul breath should recognize the fact and take care of the problem to the best of their ability. If they can not handle the problem on their own they should seek professional help.</p>
<p>When a person is faced with speaking or dealing with another person who is unaware of their halitosis it is important to address the situation rather than get away from it, especially if it is constant or chronic. Sometimes a person has a medical problem that causes them to have bad breath and they are completely unaware of the odor in their mouth or the medical problem. By telling someone they have halitosis a person may be saving another persons life  at least their social life. This may be a difficult conversation to initiate but it is important.</p>
<p>One way is to tell them without being direct is to bring up the subject by asking them if you have bad breath. Say your mouth tastes like maybe you do. You might find that you do. Perhaps they will ask if they too have bad breath. You will have to get a snoot full to test, but then you can tell them they do. If they consistently have bad breath, you can add that they seem to have it frequently. If doing this is embarrassing, and you have some mints or gum, take some out for yourself and offer them a piece. The mints or gum may clear the air for awhile, and perhaps they will take the hint. If the above approaches dont work and this is someone you associate with frequently, you will have to be direct and just come out and tell them they have bad breath and how often. If their bad breath is frequent tell them so and suggest they see a Dentist or Dental Hygienist.</p>
<p>Dont shun your friend. Remember, we all have bad breath from time to time.</p>

<p>Relaxation training is a therapeutic method that can be delivered to a group of people or on a one to one basis. Relaxation is thought to benefit conditions such as anxiety, panic, hyperventilation, insomnia, depression, and stress-related physical problems such as tense sore muscles and migraines. I am an occupational therapist and teach relaxation techniques during CBT Edinburgh.</p>
<p>Relaxation techniques tend to fall into two main categories: physical and psychological. Physical relaxation techniques include developing body awareness of tension in your muscles, body awareness of looseness in your joints, focusing the mind on allowing muscles to relax and biofeedback. There are several approaches within these and include Tense and Release, The Mitchell Method, Differential Relaxation, Passive Relaxation and Progressive Muscular Relaxation. Psychological approaches to relaxation include self-awareness, imagery and directed visualisation, self-hypnosis and autogenic techniques.</p>
<p>Relaxed breathing is a crucial part of all relaxation training and is usually used in conjunction with physical and psychological relaxation methods.  It is taught at CBT Edinburgh. Breathing enables oxygen to be carried around the body and also removes toxins from the body when we exhale. Most people know this, yet we give little time to consider how well we are breathing. The chronic effects of not breathing effectively include poor concentration, fatigue, irritability, and physical problems that may affect the skin, hair and bones.</p>
<p>Tension and stress often leads to disturbances in the way that we breathe. In a person who is stressed or tense, breathing disturbances may include shallow breathing, panting, raising the shoulders and uneven breathing, forgetting to breathe and hyperventilation. These types of breathing styles are often present during the experience of a panic attack. The switching on of the flight or fight stress response disturbs the respiratory system causing breathing to become rapid and shallow. This is because the body is trying to take in more oxygen conversely, the opposite happens and less oxygen is absorbed. However, it is possible to turn off the stress response by using relaxed breathing.  Relaxed breathing is slow and even and deep. It is done through the nose. Relaxed breathing promotes effective circulation of air around your body.</p>
<p>During relaxation the nervous system slows down and there can be a reduction in excitatory hormones, breathing rate, blood pressure, muscle action and heart rate. If you have a stressful and hectic lifestyle your nervous system (sympathetic nervous system) may be in a constant state of arousal, leaving you constantly tense. In this state your body is likely to react to small stresses and strains in the same way as it is programmed to react to real crises. Repeated episodes of flight or fight responses use up your energy stores. Learning relaxation skills is a way to break the depletion of your energy.</p>
<p>Relaxation is a skill and it doesnt always come easily. It is worth learning to relieve stress, combat strain and tiredness and to promote your well-being. It can also lead to you feeling much more in control of your body and the peacefulness of your mind.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ve designed what you hope will be the perfect match of a workout program for your needs. You know what type of muscle mass gain you want and you have written out a training guide to get there. You know you will need to ingest the &#8220;big&#8221; three to avail yourself to proper nutrition. Carbohydrates, fats and PROTEIN. Back to the basics you know that you need to feed a two hundred (200) pound body with about one and one-half (1 1/2) daily grams of protein per body pound. If you are going to ingest up to three hundred or more grams of protein per day you better get to cooking and chewing!</p>
<p>You are set up for a number of small meals throughout the day scheduled to complement your workout and rest periods. Well, get a hold of yourself. Three hundred grams of quality protein equates to about fifty (Yes 50!) medium size eggs. No way? Then grab yourself about three and a half (3 1/2) pounds of cod fillets! One more try? Three hundred grams of roast beef would be about two and one-half (2 1/2) pounds! Might as well throw in the caloric content of the above. Fifty eggs is four thousand five hundred calories! The roast beef? That much cooked cow will give you about seventy five hundred (7500) or great tasting calories.</p>
<p>Think you are set up to eat and work off that much caloric content without turning to a tubby? Ok, where are you going to find the time. Unless you have a cook on call for your six meals then no way you can develop the time to cook that stuff.</p>
<p>Now we are to the supplements. Read labels and you will find that pound for pound and dollar for dollar the powders or drinks will be more cost effective than &#8220;food&#8221;. If you could ingest solely powders you could get your three hundred (300) grams of protein out of about ONE pound of the product which would yield somewhere in the neighborhood of eighteen-hundred (1800) calories. DON&#8217;T DO THAT. While cost effective and easy these supplements still are not food and to derive the same nutrients you will be balancing the diet daily. The majority of your dietary protein still should be from chicken, tuna, etc, etc, etc, etc. So if you are on a six meal day then you would probably be OK with about three shakes maximum per day.</p>
<p>So now we know supplements are easily effective for just under half of your meals. There are hundreds if not thousands brands, type and concoctions of protein supplements on the market. We need quality, so it is necessary to READ LABELS! You can easily omit the ones containing fructose, sucrose, rice syrup and other unwanted sweeteners. Now you need to weed out the questionable ingredients such as aspartame and artifical flavors or colors.</p>
<p>Do your homework. Research the company for reliability and reputation. Products filled with crappy ingredients are and will continue to be on the market because we will buy them. Don&#8217; simply check out the protein gram marker on the label and grab it up. Safe and nutritious can be found from quality manufactures which have a valid and enduring interest in healthy and functional body building.</p>
<p>Flavor? Just like the protein grams listed on the label you might want to ignore the taste until you investigate what the darn stuff if made of. It might prove necessary to sacrifice flavor for quality. Add a banana. Add another properly nutritious flavor in the form of a favorite fruit. If you have a great product that is easy to mix and deliver to your gut then flavor should be way down on your list of wants.</p>
<p>Your choice of protein type might send you into a research fit. Three types of protein are the usual ones on the shelf. Gee whiz&#8212;you are back to realizing your goals and pick the type of protein powder best suited for you.</p>
<p>Whey. This protein makes up about twenty (20%) percent of milk. With am excellent amino acid profile along with a rapid digestion this is a good one. Use it before, during and just after your workout. These are the times of the day your body needs energy the most and rapid digestion just might help out!</p>
<p>Casein is another derivative of milk. Making up about eighty (80%) of milk protein. Having a slow digestion rate along with excellent amino acids and peptides use Casein for the times outside of the pre and post workout windows. MAXIMUM benefit realized then.</p>
<p>And good old Soy protein. Arguments are constantly raging on both sides of this protein battle. Advocates claim a super food with &#8220;great magical&#8221; powers. The other side cites many many detriments of the soy product. So unless you appreciate the taste of have another good reason for use you might just as well leave this bucket of calories sitting on the store shelf.</p>
<p>And of course, if we have different types of protein you can just imagine the number of blends manufactures put on the market. Well, with a blend you can alter digestion time, alter percent of amino acids and peptides. While you could seek a blend out with great benefits you may have to watch what you ingest just prior and just after workout.</p>
<p>So we actually know supplements are great time and calorie savers as we seek hight volumes of protein. Well, back to limiting yourself to thirty (30% or forty (40%) of your daily intake and you can greatly benefit. Just do not forget the nutrients available in the chicken and tunas that are not in the powder. As long as you do not make the mistake that protein powders are a magical elixir then can become a valuable asset to a muscle mass gaining program.</p>

<p>Everyone writes about weight loss and diets these days so I wanted to write an information packed article about the benefits of good health. What most people don&#8217;t realize is that when you focus your attentions on practicing the right steps towards a healthy vibrant lifestyle you will very rarely find yourself over weight or battling the diseases that go along with poor health.</p>

<p>These are the buzz words of our time&#8230;listen to the news or read a magazine, its all that we hear these days. This is the legacy we pass on to our future generation. These are the words that describe poor health.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, all of our focus these days is on Diet and body image when it should stress the importance of good health. Society dictates that thin is in! The advertising industry invests billions of dollars in the marketing of miracle fat burners and quick loss schemes that promise amazing overnight results. The fact is that most fad diets are developed by people with little to no scientific or health background.Most quick weight loss diets may produce short term results that in turn prove harmful with long term side effects for the very people who suffer from the health problems I have listed above</p>
<p>Your body weight and clothes size is not a reliable indication of a healthy person. No two people have the same body composition. Ask any doctor or nutritionist and they will likely state that the true measure of health and longevity has mainly to do with proper diet,healthy eating habits, a high degree of exercise and most of all a sound mental outlook on life.</p>
<p>Good health is not hard to achieve. Below is a complete list of healthy habits to practice throughout your life and I can almost guarantee that when you focus on your health, the excess weight will naturally take care of itself</p>
<p>Check List For A Healthy Lifestyle</p>
<p>1. Eat a well rounded diet each day consisting of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and calcium rich foods.</p>
<p>2. Replace large meals with 5 small low fat, high fiber meals.</p>
<p>3. Drink plenty of water. Make sure to drink at least 15 oz. of water in the morning to start your day. This will hydrate your organs and body and get your system off to a good start.</p>
<p>4. Limit your alcoholic beverage intake.</p>
<p>5. Limit caffeine intake and all other beverages that contain fat or high amounts of sugar.</p>
<p>6. Practice deep breathing exercises. When you breathe deep through your diaphragm and exhale slowly, this will reduce daily stress and stimulate your lymph nodes to help cleans and flush toxins from your body</p>
<p>7. Do at least 30-45 minutes of strenuous exercise per day. This will burn calories, rev up your metabolism, tone your muscles and also reduce stress levels.</p>
<p>8. Take a good multi-vitamin along with certain natural supplements that will enhance your energy level and replace important nutrients not absorbed with your meals. * Note: Consult with your doctor or a licensed nutritionist before setting up your dietary plan.</p>
<p>9. Be good to yourself! Do something each day that brings you personal joy. Read a good book, travel, meditate, garden, enjoy your pets,spend quality time with your spouse, get together with friends. All of these are good suggestions that will relieve stress and create a healthy &#038; positive state of mind.</p>

<p>In order to balance hormones you can begin with some basics.  Supplementing with 500 mg of magnesium at bedtime and 250 mg of B6 in the morning for 10 days before your period is a good start. Folic acid is important for nerves and brain, and also is necessary for cell repair and development.
